Partnership Based Visas

Your partner can join you in New Zealand if you hold a valid visa (Student, Work or Resident) and meet the requirements of “Partnership” instructions.

Eligibility

• You need to meet Health and Character requirements
• Your partner will need to be in New Zealand the same time as you or be traveling with you
• You will need to prove that you and your partner are living in a genuine and stable relationship

The type and length of your visa will depend on factors such as:

• How long have you lived with your partner
• If your partner is studying in New Zealand, what are they studying and at what level?
• If your partner is on a Work Visa then you may be eligible for a work visa as well
• If your partner is a New Zealand Resident, PR or Citizen, then you may be eligible to apply for a residence class visa and live in New Zealand permanently.
